POST Testing

Info Page Header Graphic

Overview

On March 1, 2016, the Peace Officer Standards and Training Council (POST) made ACCUPLACER the official POST Entrance Examination. ACCUPLACER is an untimed, computerized placement assessment that usually takes around two (2) hours to complete.

When an examinee makes the minimum ACCUPLACER Next-Generation required scores on the Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic sections of the required POST entrance exam, they have met the state requirement for POST certification. The minimum required scale scores for each section are as follows:

  • Reading (224)
  • Writing (236)
  • Arithmetic (229)

For more information about these requirements, please review the State of Georgia POST website. The College Board ACCUPLACER website also has resources and study guides for the ACCUPLACER Next-Generation sections listed above.

Registration Process

  1. Register and pay online for the POST Entrance Examination. Walk-in registrations are also available.
  2. On test date, please bring a valid government issued Photo ID. If using the walk-in option, also bring a credit/debit card for payment.
  3. Test results will be provided immediately following test completion.
  4. Complete and return the Entrance Examination Access Form to the Georgia POST Council with your application and test results for certification.
