State Grant and Scholarship Programs

Info Page Header Graphic

Giving Georgians financial choices since 1965, GSFC helps Georgia students achieve their educational goals by administering financial aid programs, advocating on issues related to financing higher education, providing free financial aid consulting, and promoting financial literacy and default prevention.

Georgia Student Finance Commission programs include state- and lottery-funded scholarships, grants and service-cancelable. The Georgia Helping Outstanding Pupils Educationally (HOPE) scholarship and grant programs are state funded award programs that provide financial assistance to students in degree, diploma, and technical certificate programs. The HOPE program pays partial tuition as determined by the Commission for eligible students. HOPE nor state aid can be used for Continuing Education Courses, books and supplies, or mandatory fees. For further information regarding the HOPE programs, visit GAfutures.

All state funding requires males age 18 and above to register with the Selective Service. Per GSFC regulations, failure to do so will prohibit Chattahoochee Technical College from awarding state aid. If you entered the country after the age of 25; served in the Armed Forces (was on Active Duty, a Military Academy, the Coast Guard, or Officer Procurement Program); were born before January 1, 1960; failed to register due to medical, incarceration, or institutional confinement; identify as transgender (assigned female at birth); have a Nonimmigrant F or M Visa; or are over 26 and have a Status Information Letter from Selective Service, please complete the Selective Service Exemption Request Form and upload to the FA Selective Service Submission Form

To apply for the following forms of aid, we recommend students complete the FAFSA application. In completing the FAFSA, the student will know that he or she has begun the process of applying for all available forms of aid.
