**For life threatening emergencies, please call 911.**

In light of recent school shootings, please be aware of your surroundings, and quickly report any activities or conversations that seem suspicious. We want to remind our Chattahoochee Tech family that campus safety is our top priority.

As such, every Chattahoochee Tech campus has law enforcement officials on site. If you see something or someone suspicious, say something immediately. Call the Chattahoochee Tech Department of Public Safety at 770-529-2311. Here is a link to the US Department of Homeland Security and their recommendations.

The Department of Public Safety/Campus Police is charged with the mission of providing a safe environment in which the faculty, staff, students, and visitors to Chattahoochee Technical can pursue the primary mission of Chattahoochee Tech, which is that of providing educational opportunities for the workforce of Georgia in the areas served by the respective campuses.

Who We Are

The Chattahoochee Technical College’s Public Safety/Campus Police maintains a force of Georgia POST Certified Police Officers.  Campus Police will always conduct all law enforcement tasks with a proactive, service-oriented and safety first approach. Other services provided are listed below.

HB 280 Campus Carry Information

House Bill 280, commonly known as the “campus carry” legislation, is effective as of July 1, 2017. Watch this video to learn more about HB 280 and what it means for you.

Services Provided

  • Escorts to and from vehicles
  • Investigative services
  • Medical emergencies
  • Emergency jump starts
  • Parking permits
  • Student identification cards
  • Lost and Found
    • Found items should be turned into Campus Police as soon as possible. If you are inquiring about a lost item, please contact Campus Police at 770-529-2311.
  • Routine patrols

Public Safety/Campus Police will not unlock vehicles to retrieve keys. Emergency situations in regards to unlocking your vehicle will be handled on a case by case basis.

Check with Campus Police to find out what additional services may be offered on your individual campus.

All Chattahoochee Technical College Police Officers have the power of arrest and the authority to enforce all Federal, State and Local laws in a fair and impartial manner. Their jurisdiction includes the entire campus and extends to any Chattahoochee Tech property controlled by the Technical College System of Georgia.

Assistance from other Agencies

Chattahoochee Tech Department of Public Safety/Campus Police has established open lines of communication with bordering law enforcement agencies at all eight of our campuses. This has been done so that information can be exchanged freely between departments. This will assist us if needed, with investigations, mutual aid, and training.
